Historically there have been numerous challenges with automated software testing, especially in Agile and iterative environments. These challenges are centered on the dynamic nature of Agile and the complexity and cost of automated software testing.
With the advent of Cloud services, previously prohibitive automated testing capabilities are now available on demand and with easy to use interfaces. This shift will embrace non-technical, business domain personnel by leveraging their experience in the business processes. Test automation becomes more valuable by accelerating test creation and increasing test coverage. This evolution will positively impact the software industry by broadening the use of automated testing, especially in Agile environments
